Next Month?!
I just used the phrase "getting ready to move next month." NEXT
MONTH! Ummm, say what?!
I will be on my way to Haiti in 44 days (give or take a day, depending on flights)!
I have 30 more days of work, with only 3 more Sundays with my preschoolers.
I have 2 days with my dad's side of the family in VA this week for the 4th.
I have a week in Michigan with my mom's side of the family coming up.
I have 5 more Sundays with my MBC Silver Spring church community.
This. is. crazy!
Everything has started to feel more real lately as I've talked with my Pastor about my church "sending me off," received goodbye gifts, chatted with a former Sonlight 2nd grade teacher about tips and ideas for the classroom, realized that I won't be here for most of the things we are now planning for at work, and talked with Carmen- the Songlight Academy principal- about my flight arrangements... but I'm sure things won't really hit me until I've been in Haiti a few weeks and realize that I'm not going "home."
Current Prayer Requests:
-Support raising! Right now I am about 27% funded. I have a couple fundraising events coming up, so please pray that those go well!
-Classroom planning! Especially for teaching Bible... I have the amazing opportunity of teaching Bible to my students everyday. There is really no curriculum or set focus for 2nd grade Bible though, so I have to figure out what I want to do. I want to use this time well!
-Prayer for my students!
