First Day Success!
After a week of teacher orientation, classroom decorating, and lesson planning, the first day of school went smoothly today! There are so many days of preparation that I was ready for the kiddo to arrive! I still felt a little nervous this morning before school, but much more relaxed and ready to face the day than this time last year! It helps so much to have one year already under my belt, and to have an idea of what works best and how I want things to run from the get-go. My new second graders were very well behaved and motivated today. I forgot how little they are at the beginning of the year! It reminded me just how much my students grew academically and with their English last year. Speaking of last year, it was fun to see all the familiar faces of my students from last year who are now in 3rd grade. I got to pop my head into their new class today and check up on/encourage them a little. :) I think it's going to be a great year, and am excited to grow and learn with my 25 new little ones this year!

Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks:
Teacher Orientation:
With Miss Katie (my roommate and Preschool teacher), Mme. Rob/Cindy (1st grade), and Mr. Rob (middle school Bible and Bible College).
We did a prayer walk through the school! This is me being prayed over in my classroom.
This is all of the Academy teachers for this year. Included are two new teachers: Mr. & Madam Ryan! They are also my new neighbors in the apartments!
Classroom Decorating:
Joy after getting my room all set up! I got to leave a few things up at the end of last year, so decorating took a lot less time this go around!
Rainy Days:
We had some "welcome home" rain last week. Rain in Port de Paix often equals flooded streets, a leaky apartment, and a lot of mess!
First day fun!:
Teachers giving each other some last bits of encouragement before the day starts!
My class lining up before the bell!
Recess time is always a hit! :)
Have a few eager readers already!
I would love your continued prayers for a smooth, fun, and impactful school year!
